Rock 666 Album Artwork

This was designed for the 2nd volume of the compliation album rock666. The breif was to create something with a real impact, that had all the traits of a compliation of the genre, but not to be cliche. The cut and paste style using the x-rays, sets the heavy tone, whilst the overlayed graphics and colours give it the contemporary style.

Rose Girl

Part of a series of drawings, this was originally created as a pencil outline. The sketch was then scanned and coloured in Photoshop. This and several other pieces, have since been transfered onto canvas, and recreated as paintings in their own right.

Attrition | Film Poster

Film poster for the GraphicQuarter film, Attrition. The poster shows the familar press shot of the films character. The film features thousands of still photos, animated at speed. Although the photos were all digital and many have never been printed, for the press shots of the film, some were printed out in a format similar to a polaroid snap. The DVD features several of these shots, some with multiple photos scattered across the wooden floor.

Day2 | Film Poster

The day2 artwork had been around for sometime and had been used on DVDs and press releases for screenings. This poster actually came about some 2 years after the films original release. Although the style is the same as what had come before, the shot in the middle of the poster is totally new. Previously, stills from the film had been shown, but this took things a step further and mixed several scenes together in order to get a broader perspective of the story.

A Horse Named Johnny Cash | Film Poster

This is a poster for a film by Richard Shaw. I was asked to produce the opening titles for the film and later the artwork for the poster above. The film is a 20 minute drama, with a moral issue and a love twist at it's centre. The horseshoe provides a litteral link with the title and a nod to the concepts of luck and circumstance explored in the film.

Wake | Film Poster

Another Richard Shaw film. Wake is a dark comedy/drama. This poster was created before the film was shot, which I guess is a bit unusual. But it conjures well the solemness of the central event, but with a humility that's generated by the sketch of the character.

Portal | Film Poster

This poster was an obvious progression from the main publicity shot for the film. It has a play on the 70s sci-fi style and echos the stark emotion of the film itself.

Abstract 01

Created for an online exhibition, this piece was inspired by night-time lighting, and the streaking effects it can create when captured.

Dilute

Christmas comes but four months a year. Consumerism gone nuts. Do we really want it? Do we really need it? Who is to blame? Is there blame? Who cares? Should we care? Does it have the same relevance when it arrives? Do we really understand the relevance? What is christmas.....?

Macshopper | MacUser Illustration

Created for mac users 'macshopper' page, this illustration depicts the key elements of this section in the magazine. Originally created as a full 3D environment, the output was then cut and re-sampled to achieve this 'techy' feel.

Release

People get angry, things wind them up. You get pulled up for something ridiculous, it's a waste of your time, spoils your moment, rains on your parade. Getting violent should never be an option, shouting only prolongs the situation and becomes a real headache for anyone forced to share your space......create!

Self Portrait

This portrait was a bit of an accident (as all self portraits should be), It came about with the creation of the curved line in this composition, which was intended for use in another piece. This was the spark for the other elements that create the overall image.

TJ McCall Poster

Created to promote a local gig. Part of the aim was to promote both the gig itself, but also the CDs on sale. The tricky part was the CDs as they hadn't actually been pressed at that date, and so, the scene was generated in 3D. We wanted to get that smokey rustic vibe, something that illustated the kind of music. The strong volumetric lights give that 'earthy' feel, supported by the bare wood floor.

This job was created with Mr John Pagan (cheers JP!)

Spiderman | Rehash

It's not that i'm against hollywood making a bit of extra cash, but the endless line of sequels is starting to grate. One tired concept after another cut up and repackaged for the masses. Reaction.

Assault

A weekend night out in a big city, can be fraught with danger. Stand in the wrong place or breathe in the wrong direction and things can take a unpleasant twist.
